Calvin Harris Won a VMA But Didn't Thank the Song's Songwriter, Taylor Swift

While accepting the award for Best Male Music Video at Sunday night’s VMAs, Adam “Calvin Harris” Wiles thanked the “This Is What You Came For” vocalist (Rihanna), director (Emil Nava), and fans (you and me). One person he didn’t thank, however, was the song’s co-writer, Taylor Swift.

“I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there. I have a show tonight in the UK, or else I’d definitely be there,” Harris lied at the beginning of his pre-recorded speech before called Rihanna a “superstar” and Nava a “legend.” But instead of calling Swift a “mistake” or “reason for my night terrors,” he called her nothing at all.

After thanking “everybody who’s supported [and] watched the video,” the screen cut back to the show, and Taylor probably threw her moon man out the window.

When Justin Bieber deleted his Instagram account earlier this month, I almost suggested starting an office pool to guess when he would reactivate it. I forgot about this idea until a few minutes ago, when I learned his Instagram account had been reactivated. Damn. Too late.

He’s currently following Sofia Richie, the daughter of Lionel Richie he may or may not still be dating, but not Selena Gomez. Probably because she was one of the reasons for this entire mess.

Other people Bieber isn’t following include Hailey Baldwin and me.
