Last night at a special screening of Lovelace at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, the fashion was all over the place: Not too formal, not too casual, somehow just right for a summer night spent watching a movie about a ’70s porn star.
Adam Brody is all OC meets Silicon Valley. Chris Noth does his best David Byrne. And Peter Vack dares you to question his wearing a camo workout shirt to a film event.
Zac Posen: buttoned up. Peter Sarsgaard: unbuttoned. Zachary Quinto: no buttons.
Doing interesting things with inky black: Genevieve Jones, Catherine MacKinnon, Nicole Miller.
In rosier hues: vivid lace on Debi Mazar; sweet pink on Gloria Steinem, ruffled red on Anouk Lepere.
Taking fashion risks: Joan Smalls makes a halter bra top work for everning. Zosia Mamet mixes platforms and leather. Christine Lahti’s jersey dress looks comfortable but clingy. Valerie Simpson rocks the hell out of a funky, amazing print.
Meh on the dress but loving Amanda Seyfried‘s red lips and glossy curls.
Best of the night? Sharon Stone in ice pick killer steez: crisp, chilly white. That hair! So cool it’s hot.
