Last night in New York, HBO threw a premiere for The Normal Heart, which airs later this month. The movie is based on a play based on the life of Larry Kramer and the rise of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York. Big stars were in attendance.
First things first: Matt Bomer has been doing a retro chiseled Cary Grant stone fox thing on the cover of Out and IRL, and it is good. Pattern mixing and Brylcreem. Hot.
Skinny gray suits and skinny ties for Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons, Gambit/Tim Riggins/Taylor Kitsch and Parsons’ boyfriend Todd Spiewak.
The Normal Heart star Mark Ruffalo looks handsome in an ever-so-slightly rumpled tux. Dylan McDermott (with girlfriend Shasi Wells) did the open-shirt thing.
The Normal Heart director Ryan Murphy (also of Glee and American Horror Story fame) opted for a fanciful take on formality. Jonathan Groff, (Glee, Looking, Frozen) Nolan Gerard Funk (The Canyons, Glee) and Glee‘s Darren Criss were a bit more traditional.
J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons (with girlfriend Courtney Crangi) elevates camo with statement heels. Rob Thomas (you remember Matchbox Twenty, right?) and Marisol Thomas went with easy elegance. Andy Cohen looks like he has a yacht to catch. In a good way.
