In the upcoming film About Ray, directed by Gaby Dellal, Elle Fanning plays a teen named Ray who decides to transition from female to male.

Via Vanity Fair, the trailer shows Naomi Watts and Susan Sarandon playing Ray’s mother and lesbian grandmother, respectively, who must learn how to navigate the new changes within their family. Watts’s character also has to track down Ray’s biological father, played by Tate Donovan, to convince him to sign the consent form that will allow the transition.
