Last we saw Emma Watson in our headlines, she lost her license for six months in July after failing to show up in court for a 2024 speeding ticket. More than anything, I was surprised to learn she drives at all—though at that point, she wasn’t going to be driving again for the foreseeable future. Maybe that’s the situation that led her into the arms of a *sighs* billionaire AI guy.
On Wednesday, Watson was photographed at an airport kissing, as People describes him, the “billionaire Mexican entrepreneur” Gonzalo Hevia Baillères. Based on photos obtained by Quién, they were seen on a dinner date, then grabbing drinks; the outlet also reported that they were first spotted together in Courchevel in the French Alps in late 2025. In February, Deuxmoi reported that they attended a wedding together in Mexico, noting that he doesn’t “have the best reputation when it comes to how he’s treated his ex-girlfriends.”
Cute! We love love! Except, of all the people in the world to kiss, did she have to pick an AI billionaire? I’m sure she’s had her fallout bunker secured in the event of an apocalypse for years, so I can’t imagine she’s dating him for access to a chance at survival. Though that I would understand…
Baillères is from a big-time business family, but he, personally, is the founder and CEO of Lok, an AI company. He also works with Chazki, a technology company, and Coca-Cola Femsa, the corporation that makes Mexican Coke’s glass bottles. His family is linked to Grupo Bal, a conglomerate founded by Alberto Baillères, according to Cosmopolitan, with businesses in mining, insurance, retail, and finance. His grandparents founded a mining company, Industrias Penoles, and the family also owns Mexico’s equivalent of Saks Fifth Avenue.

The Baillèreses’ net worth is estimated to be anywhere between $6.65 billion and $19.7 billion, making them the fourth-richest family in Mexico and the tenth-richest in all of Latin America, according to Forbes. Neither Watson nor Baillères has confirmed or denied anything.
I’ve done some Googling, and Lok appears to be a company of “smart lockers,” so he’s not building another ChatGPT, but AI technology nonetheless. Specifically, the startup is “dedicated to creating one of the largest networks of smart lockers in Latin America,” according to Mexico Business News. Hey, everyone’s gotta have a dream! The same article, from 2024, announced that Lok merged with Chazki, a “Peruvian tech company specializing in transportation and delivery services for e-commerce and retail.” Cool.
Watson was previously linked to Brandon Green, the son of British billionaire Sir Philip Green (she has a type!), who owns the Topshop chains—but they split in 2022 after about a year and a half together.
You do you, girl. But maybe consider the old saying: Save the Earth, don’t kiss a billionaire.
