In August 1990, as “U Can’t Touch This” approached absolute inescapability nationwide, MC Hammer stopped by The Oprah Winfrey Show to show off his moves and even demonstrate how to replicate them. As you can see from this clip, Oprah was slightly skeptical.

“I’m still doing the same move I did from the seventh grade,” the host confessed, wearing a purple-and-lime-green outfit eclipsed only by her guest’s sequined jumpsuit.
