Expectant Father Prince William Buys Blue Clothes; What Does It MEAN?!
LatestUrgent dispatch from across the pond: Prince William went shopping. And he bought blue clothing. Is this… a clue?????
Us Weekly reports that on, April 22, in the year of our lord 2015, William—Duke of Cambridge and second in line to the throne of Great Britain—visited a London department store. Specifically, Peter Jones. He brought his personal shopper, “who pulled a bevy of blue items for the second-time dad-to-be,” according to Us Weekly’s breathless and (they are quick to add) exclusive report. Still reading? Want even more detail on this completely inconsequential adventure? You’re in luck:
After browsing the Barbour section of the store and contemplating Toms and Converse shoes, the heir to the throne decided on multiple of pairs of John Lewis and GANT jeans, and two “Merino V-Neck Jumpers,” also by John Lewis, one in powder blue and one in navy blue (40 pounds each). The grand total: almost 800 pounds (or about $1,200).
“Prince William was very nice to all the staff,” added their source. (Boring—I want to hear which royals are positively horrid.)
This could be a sign that Will and Kate are expecting another boy. Alternatively, it could simply mean that when you have a personal shopper, you have someone to inform you in no uncertain terms that you’d look totally whatever in pink and blue is much more flattering. The real mystery is why on Earth you’d bother shopping in a department store when you could have someone bring an array of flattering options to your home. Or have everything made bespoke.
