Tom Holland and Zendaya Secretly Got Married

They did it. They really did it. Tom Holland and Zendaya got married without us. How rude. In a cover story for Esquire, Holland appears to have confirmed that he and Zendaya tied the knot in a private ceremony. And that’s all we get on that. I’m almost starting to feel like this famously private couple doesn’t want us pouring over their wedding photos and meticulously judging their intimate ceremony reserved for family and close friends! What gives? 

The rumors that the two had gotten secretly married started up in January, when Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach said on the Golden Globes red carpet that the wedding had “already happened.” There’s spilling tea, and then there’s dousing the internet with it. Roach knew what he was doing. 

Since then, the media (both traditional and social) has been desperate for more clues that Spider-man and Mary Jane are wed, as evidenced by all the AI-generated images of Zendaya in a wedding dress that began circulating around the internet. Even still, the pair have remained silent about the rumored wedding, with Zendaya only addressing the AI images during her press tour for The Drama. “I was just out and about in real life and people were like, ‘Oh my god, your wedding photos are gorgeous. And I was like, ‘Babe, they’re AI. They’re not real,” she told Jimmy Kimmel back in March.

Holland also addressed the AI-generated wedding photos during his Esquire interview. When asked if he’d had to alert family members about the photos, Holland responded, “No, because they were all there.” Pause. Record scratch. They were all there? As in, an event in the past? As in, a wedding that has already happened? Obviously, Holland’s Esquire interviewer, Henry Wong, picked up on the implication. 

Per Esquire: “I tell him that I did not realize that the wedding happened already. ‘That’s all you get on that,’ he says. It’s the firmest Holland has been so far in our conversation.” 

So there you have it. The clearest indication we have yet that Tom Holland is Mr. Zendaya. Congrats to the newlyweds (we think?), and our apologies in advance for all the AI-generated Zendaya pregnancy photos to come. I’d say society will start to get better at recognizing them, but I think we all know that’s not true
