Trump supporter Betsy McCaughey, the former Lt. Gov. of New York and a very confused woman, went on CNN and compared Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault to Hillary Clinton listening to Beyoncé, which is way, way grosser and more bad. Hey, guys, welcome to Hades! This is where we live now! It’s so fun here!
“I abhor lewd and bawdy language, I don’t listen to rap music, I don’t like that kind of thing,” McCaughey informed Don Lemon. “But Hillary Clinton, when she expresses—”
Lemon clarified whether she was talking about rap music, perhaps because rap music has absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump telling Billy Bush on an Entertainment Tonight bus that he likes to grab pussies.
“I did, I said rap music because it’s full of the f-word, the p-word, the b-word, the a-word.”
“I don’t think anyone likes that, but those people aren’t running for president,” Lemon replied, briefly reminding us why he is terrible.
Fine, but Betsy had something to say, and it included a line from Beyoncé’s Formation that she specifically brought to the studio to read:
“Hillary Clinton expresses that she finds the language on that bus horrific, but in fact she likes language like this, quote: ‘I came to slay bitch, when he eff me good I take his ass to Red Lobster.’ That happens to be a line from Beyoncé, her favorite performer, whom she idolizes and would like to imitate. So, you know what I’m saying to you?”
I do not think McCaughey herself knows what she is saying to us. That a pop star singing about consensual sex with her husband is comparable to the giant mound of hardened Cheez Whiz running for president boasting about sexually assaulting women? That Beyoncé, or any black performer, automatically exists under the “rap music” genre? That Hillary Clinton, a 69-year-old who struggled with the nae nae, is trying to imitate Beyoncé? That Red Lobster is gross? That Betsy McCaughey is mind-blowingly racist, and has no concept of how stupid she sounds when she tries to repeat Beyoncé lyrics?
“There’s a lot of hype-ocrisy,” McCaughey concluded, mispronouncing hypocrisy.
