In but a small flourish to the very complete portrait of a buck-wild 1950s butt-slapping culture at Fox News, twelve sources have told the HuffPost that anchor Eric Bolling sent the same unsolicited photo of “male genitalia” to at least three female colleagues. That’s one more name to throw into the cesspool of Fox newsmen fired amongst sexual harassment claims, including Roger Ailes, Bill O’Reilly, Charles Payne, Jaimie Horowitz, and Francisco Cortes, with accusations ranging from pressuring women into relationships to coercing blow jobs.
Bolling’s lawyer denied the accusations, calling them “false and defamatory”:
Mr. Bolling recalls no such inappropriate communications, does not believe he sent any such communications, and will vigorously pursue his legal remedies for any false and defamatory accusations that are made.
Non-Fox viewers may recall Bolling as the man who once referred to a fighter pilot as “boobs on the ground,” called Obama’s White House the “hizzouse,” and has said he doesn’t believe there is racism in America.
This is terrible timing for Fox, which is in the middle of a company-wide investigation by the New York State Division of Human Rights, an internal investigation by 21st Century Fox, a federal investigation into the handling of the Roger Ailes settlements, executives bowing out, female anchors leaving, advertisers boycotting, and speculation that Sean Hannity might leave because he misses his friends. He vehemently denied those rumors, but he’s hired a team of lawyers and ranted about scapegoating. Sorry, Sean. 🙁
Update, 5:43 PM: We have received an official statement from a Fox News spokesperson:
“Eric Bolling has been suspended pending the results of an investigation, which is currently underway.”
