Glam Gowns and Lurking Lagerfeld at the Fashion Group International Night Of Stars

Last night, fashion designers and celebrities convened at the 29th Annual Fashion Group International Night Of Stars. The FGI is a global, non-profit, professional organization with a mission to be the pre-eminent authority on the business of fashion and design. But all we really want to know is: What did everyone wear?

Karl Lagerfeld branched out of his usual Edwardian costume, oh, wait, no he didn’t. And fellow designer Haider Ackermann rocked some tiny spectacles, to complete the steampunk vampire in London effect. Tori Burch looked crisp and pretty in navy.

I don’t understand what was going on with Linda Fargo‘s ruffled leather extravaganza, I just know that I sort of love it. She committed, you know? (BTW she is the senior vice president of women’s fashion, store design, and presentation at Bergdorf.) Carolina Herrera brought the old-school gala chic.

Sharp tux jackets on designer Misha Nonoo and designer Gareth Pugh. Loved his spring 2013 collection. Nicola Maramotti was victorious in a not-so-simple black column dress.

Gorgeous Gowns: Australian model Nicole Trunfio; Caren Brooks, investor/socialite Julie Macklowe.

Long locks cascading down one side on Harley Viera Newton and Annelise Peterson.

Dapper dudes: Handsome as hell Prabal Gurung; Derek Lam and Wynton Marsalis (with unidentified lady, anyone know who she is?).

Vintagey-cute dress on Alexi Ashe, Seth Myers‘ date. Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan did minimal and maximal. Bibhu Mohapatra and “guest” were snazzy.

Paper magazine co-founder Kim Hastreiter and MAC Cosmetics’ James Gager both accessorized with aplomb.

Hamish Bowles, fan of the boutonnière. Selita Ebanks, slinky in silver.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos looked like they were headed to meet Cry-Baby at the spring formal.

Sarah Jessica Parker channeled the zebra from Fruit Stripe gum.

Designer L’Wren Scott, resplendent in sequins. She is six foot five, btw.

Nina Garcia was elegant in a lace-hemmed LBD and strappy sandals.

Viola Davis, impeccable.

Apparently this was Renee Zellweger‘s first red carpet appearance in five months. She made a good choice: sexy, slate gray, off-the-shoulder Carolina Herrera dress that va-va-voom both coming and going.
