Joe Alwyn Celebrates Taylor’s Wedding Week with His Own Love Story

How is Joe Alwyn celebrating Taylor Swift’s wedding week? By making out with Sarah Pidgeon in London, of course! Rumors of a relationship between Swift’s former LTR and the Love Story star began back in June, when the two were spotted out in Brooklyn engaging in some light PDA. The two were supposedly introduced at an “industry event” earlier this year (classic actor stuff.) Now, they’ve have been spotted smooching in public yet again, this time in the London Boy’s own hometown across the pond. (Wonder what would make them want to ditch New York?)

After the photos dropped, a source confirmed that the pair are “casually dating and really into each other” to Us Weekly. “Both Sarah and Joe are very intellectual, private, and laid-back people, so it feels like a really compatible match,” the source added. “They share similar personalities and enjoy spending time together away from the spotlight.” Translation: neither of them are the type of people to want a 1,000-person 4th of July wedding at an iconic arena. Got it. 

Alwyn famously dated Taylor Swift from 2017 to 2023, and the two kept their relationship extremely private. After the split, rumors that Alwyn’s discomfort with Taylor’s level of fame contributed to the breakup became widespread, making him something of a villain in the Swiftieverse. Since then, Alwyn has spoken only publicly about the difficulties of navigating a breakup with one of the most famous women in the world a few times, telling The Guardian in 2025, “I have tried to just focus on controlling what I can control.” “I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it.” 

(As if the Swifties would ever let him do that.)

His outings with Pidgeon, who played Carolyn Bessette Kennedy in Ryan Murphy’s “Love Story,” are the first time he’s been seen out romantically with anyone in the three years since the Taylor split. Meanwhile, Sarah Pidgeon has kept her own romantic life relatively private, having only been publicly linked to one person—Spacey Jane frontman Caleb Harper—back in 2022.

So it seems this could be a match in low-key-celebrity heaven. Meanwhile, at Madison Square Garden….
