At Friday’s White Sox game in Chicago, when Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney threw out the ceremonial first pitch, she gave her throw a twist and added a little tumbling pass.
Looks like a cartwheel to a front walkover? Any gymnasts want to weigh in? Whatever you want to call it, it’s awesome. As a nod to her “not impressed” meme, the official White Sox Twitter feed called it “very impressive.”
E! reports that this wasn’t Maroney’s first time on the mound — in 2012, she, Gabby Douglas and Kyla Ross threw out the ball at a Dodgers game. But that was very straightforward; the tumbling is so much more fun!
