It’s a bit of a shock to see übersupermodel Gisele Bündchen without her long, luscious locks in the new Balenciaga ad — shot by Steven Klein — but she looks tough and fierce.
WWD reports:
“This is how I see Gisele for Balenciaga; strong, powerful, mysterious and uncompromising,” Balenciaga artistic director Alexander Wang said of the campaign, half of which is shot in black-and-white and the other half in color. “This season we worked with this idea of vanity, staged in a room filled with mirrors. But the cracked mirror is a continuing thread from the marble veins and creeping ivy leaves from seasons past.”
Here’s the thing: Just four days ago on Instagram, Gisele’s cascading waves of hair appeared to be intact:
So how did she get the appearance of having that trendy haircut every dude is getting? The undercut/high and tight/Macklemore/Adam Levine/Brad Pitt/1930s/Boardwalk Empire/Hitler Youth cut?
Is it a styling trick? A wig? Photoshop? Magic? Inquiring minds want to know. We’ve reached out to the hair stylist on the shoot… Stay tuned.
