The nominees for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Golden Globe were basically a who’s who of comedy giants: Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Veep, Lily Tomlin for Grace and Frankie, and Jamie Lee Curtis for Scream Queens, along with newcomers Gina Rodriguez for Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom. It was a very happy surprise when Bloom, writer and star of the only musical comedy series on network television took home the award after her first (albeit great) season.
