Jennifer Lopez Is Working on Her Second Spanish Album with Marc Anthony

Entertainment

Jennifer Lopez has another Spanish language album on the way—her first since 2007. The project is a collaboration with none other than Marc Anthony, a person with whom J. Lo is familiar.

Anthony, Lopez’s ex-husband, will reportedly serve as executive producer on the new album, due in 2017, with a lead single expected in November. He also co-produced Lopez’s first Spanish language album Como Ama Una Mujer, more than 10 years ago, because that’s how life works.

Via Billboard:

Expectations are high surrounding Lopez’s new Spanish set. At the time of its release in 2007, Como Ama Una Mujer set the record for the largest sales week for an act’s debut Spanish-language album. That record would later be broken by Romeo Santos, but Lopez still maintains the record among female artists’ debut Spanish-language albums.

In a statement, Lopez expressed the usual press release excitement: “I am so excited and really looking forward to this new musical journey and to celebrate my Latin roots,” she said. Anthony added via statement that Lopez “has had enormous accomplishments in her career and has been representing our culture all over the world from day one.”

FYI, this post has taken me down a J. Lo rabbit hole that involves watching “Me Haces Falta,” “Get Right” and her Flashdance-inspired video “I’m Glad.”
