Kelly Rowland Channels Donna Summer in Light of Neil Bogart Biopic

It’s been about a year since Spike Lee signed on to direct Spinning Gold, the biopic about Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart, who signed among others, KISS, T. Rex, Parliament, and Cher. Justin Timberlake is already on board as Bogart, and it looks like Kelly Rowland is interested in playing the voice of disco herself, Donna Summer.

Apparently Rowland has been “campaigning” for the role—she certainly nailed the look in a selfie she posted to Instagram last week, which she captioned, “#tbt #DonnaSummer-ish #LovetoLoveYa.” Obviously the woman can sing, so it’ll be interesting to see if she’s a serious contender, but hey, Justin’s in there! Holy shit, can we cast this whole film with 90s-early aughts pop sensations?
