Lady Gaga is not starring in a Dionne Warwick biopic, despite earlier reports out of Cannes that she’d be playing late English singer Cilla Black.
One person who is starring in the biopic Dionne is ex-Destiny’s Child member Letoya Luckett, who’s playing Warwick.
However, Gaga is not part of the project. “Reports of Gaga starring in the project are false,” Gaga’s rep confirmed.

According to a source, Lady Gaga had never even heard of the movie.
Gaga’s supposed casting made international headlines, after Warwick held a press conference in Cannes on Friday afternoon and told reporters that the “Born This Way” singer had committed to the film. Journalists were even shown a promotional poster with Gaga’s name on it.
Was Warwick just trying to speak this into existence? The iconic singer further described Black’s role as the biopic’s “villain,” noting it’s “because she stole my music!”
