It wasn’t enough to watch Captain María LaGuerta ignore all the red flags season after season on Dexter until she met her inevitable fate. Now Lauren Vélez is playing another woman in authority who somehow doesn’t see what’s coming.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that Vélez’s forthcoming character on How to Get Away With Murder will meet the same fate. She’ll be playing the President of Middleton University, which is where Viola Davis’s character Annalise Keating works as a professor. TVLine reports that Vélez’s character is still unnamed, but her breakdown describes her as “self-assured, friendly, warm and diplomatic.”
