Some brides take a thoroughly sensible approach to their wedding shoes, correctly reminding themselves that, provided said bride has chosen a long dress, no one will really see the shoes. True and fair. Other sensible approaches take comfort into account, which is wise because generally speaking, your wedding day will be one spent largely on your feet.
And then there’s another kind of bride. The kind of bride who’s all, “I WANT TO EXPRESS MYSELF THROUGH MY CHOICE OF FOOTWEAR ON THIS, THE MOST IMPORTANT OF DAYS.”
I was that bride. (Except for the whole “most important of days” part because damn, I found most wedding stuff to be kind of a crock.) In fact, that bride in those blue shoes right up there is me! Those shoes had everything: They were blue. They had feathers. They had a bling-y embellishment at the toes. They had a satin ribbon at the heel. They said I DO in crystals on the soles. They were absurd in every conceivable way and I loved them entirely.

Now it’s your turn to tell us about your wedding shoes. What color were they? Did you write stuff on the soles? Tape a penny to ’em? Were they high, low, or somewhere in between? Did you wear sneakers? Cowboy boots? Where are our barefoot brides? Oh there you are! What color toenail varnish did you go with, beach bunny? Tell us, and even better … show us! We’ll hoof on back to this same spot on Thursday to OOH and AHH at your shoes, your gorgeous, gorgeous shoes.
