Marsai Martin Wants Adults to Listen to Kids

EntertainmentMovies

Black-ish star Marsai Martin made history when she pitched the idea for her new film Little, a modern, inverse reimagining of the movie Big, and became the youngest executive producer ever on a major Hollywood project. So it’s no surprise that she excellently parodies a power-boss in Little, in which she plays the younger version of Regina Hall as a ruthless tech entrepreneur who is cursed to become her 13-year-old self overnight.

A leading voice in Hollywood, Martin talked to Jezebel about why adults should listen to kids and how to get your ideas heard in an industry that doesn’t take young voices as seriously as it should.

Creative Producers: Marvin Van Buren and Therese McPherson. Interview conducted by Tonja Renée Stidhum.
