Mila J & Future Dropped a Freaky Sex Heater, Also An Ode to Jodeci
EntertainmentAs most sane people know, Jodeci’s “Freek’N You” is one of the best sex jams of all time. I’m not sure if this in fact is a case for Future’s sanity (he messed things up with Ciara, for god’s sake) but at least here, in the presence of Mila J, we know he still possesses a modicum of reason. On “Freaknic,” the duo throws back to “Freek’N You” and updates it with steamy, glossy bass humping, though I am a bit disappointed that a track whose title references Atlanta’s legendary spring break Freaknik isn’t just slightly more Rhythm & Quad. It’s okay, though, it’s 2015, and the thump of sub-bass is low enough to rattle trucks, plus Mila J sings the line “we come together baby that’s how we screw” and “I wanna sex you every day this year baby/I wanna do you like I knew you in another life.” This what I call a body party, all apologies to Cici.
Mila J is, of course, a singer and dancer out of Los Angeles, who happens to be the slightly less famous sister of Jhené Aiko, which makes no sense to me because Jhené Aiko’s music is boring as hell. Last year’s “Smoke, Drink, Break Up” was a complete jam, one of my favorites of the summer, with a video that featured my beloved Ty Dolla $ign as the love interest, interspliced with Mila J and her badass girlfriends rolling around LA in a hooptie looking impossibly cool. I want Mila J to be famous so she may continue making music that sounds like a puddle of baby oil spilled on a squeaky clean floor made of glass.
