A Swedish woman is being investigated for allegedly leaving her 1-year-old boy alone in his stroller on a sidewalk in Amherst, Massachusetts. The boy sat outside a restaurant for 10 minutes while the mother went inside to order food and was totally unharmed. The mother has been reported to a state agency for possible child maltreatment, but she “found nothing wrong with the situation,” and said it’s common to leave children unattended in Sweden. That may be true, but on the mean streets of Amherst, he could have been subjected to intense cooing from college students.
