Lifetime has been marketing Dance Moms so perfectly, giving a little wink to appreciators of camp, who probably make up at least half of the show’s audience. In the promo trailer for the new season, Abby and the girls recreate the iconic video for A-ha’s “Take On Me.”
Last year, for the season three trailer, they did a nod to Flashdance with a “Maniac” music video (with Abby, in silhouette tugging a chain that releases a bucket of water not on herself, but on the moms that she hates).
