Because grown-ass adults can pretty much show up to Comic-Con dressed in head-to-toe superhero garb and nobody will judge you, celebrities often sneak around the event in disguise. This year one such celeb was Lupita Nyong’o, who showed up in a pink Power Rangers outfit and danced with glee all across the venue.
Look at these fools, rolling their eyes at this crazed Power Ranger. They have no idea that behind that creepy, white plastic mask is Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o! Voice of Maz Kanata in Star Wars! Star of the forthcoming Black Panther! Think of all the selfies that were not taken!
Celebrities love to do this at Comic-Con. Bryan Cranston showed up one year in a Heisenberg mask. Andrew Garfield dressed as Spiderman. Jared Leto went as a baboon and even posed with people in Joker makeup, the sicko. I assume they do this because they are tired of being beautiful and recognized all the time and want to experience the “real” world with “real” people. Ugh, don’t we all! But it’s clear that nobody has had more fun in disguise at Comic-Con than a dancing Lupita Nyong’o.
