Ohhhh, Burn

Who’s ready for the weekend?

Here’s all the shit we couldn’t cover today:

  • Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Friday, and when asked by Chairman Jerry Nadler about whether he ever interfered with Robert Mueller’s investigation, told Nadler that his allotted five minutes of questioning were up. The room erupted. What a zinger. Eventually he said, “There has been no event, no decision that has required me to take any action, and I have not interfered in any way in the special counsel’s investigation.” [Politico, Twitter]
  • A person on death row’s request to have his imam in the room during his execution was denied—once by the Alabama prison where he was held, and again on Thursday, when the Supreme Court voted 5-4 in favor of allowing the execution to go forward. [NPR]
  • Kellyanne Conway says an “unhinged” and “out of control” woman came up behind her at a restaurant where she was eating with her daughter and started “shaking” her. The woman has been charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct; her attorney said in a statement that no assault occurred and her client was expressing her personal opinion. [Politico, CNN]
  • Undocumented workers at Trump’s New Jersey golf club sometimes earn enough money to go back home to this small town in Costa Rica and buy some land for themselves. [Washington Post]
  • Keep Amazon out of New York. [Washington Post]
  • The Senate majority leader of Virginia, a Republican, edited his military college’s yearbook, but he doesn’t really have a good answer for how photos of students in blackface ended up there. [CNN]
  • Joseph P. Kennedy will reportedly endorse Elizabeth Warren for president when she announces her campaign on Saturday. [Boston Globe]
  • We all know Hitler’s big problem was dreaming too big. [Daily Beast]
