OMFG Here's Your First Look At Newsies On Broadway
Latest
Ladyboner alert: Disney has released this behind-the-scenes look at the Broadway cast of Newsies. Yes, it’ll be weird to see someone other than a young Christian Bale in the role of Jack Kelly, but how wonderful would it be to see our favorite early-90s Disney period piece done live? Very wonderful.
You know, if the cast needs any pointers on how to replicate the dances in “King Of New York” or “Seize The Day,” my inner child still remembers all of those dancing newspaper-boy’s moves. And if the clip above isn’t enough to whet your Newsies appetite, there’s another behind-the-scenes clip of rehearsal courtesy of Playbill, featuring an interview with composer Alan Menken (below). In it, we discover that Bill Pullman’s role has been axed for a lady journalist named Katherine Plumber, who will write the story about the newspaper boy strike and play a love interest to Jack.
For those clamoring for tickets, they are not yet on sale! The show will open at New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse before it hits Broadway. Field trip, anyone?
