A giant rock in the Santa Monica Mountains sits silently but for a single question scrawled across its face: “PROM?” Park rangers are not pleased.
The Los Angeles Times points to Facebook and Twitter messages from the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Somebody identifying himself as “Ranger Zach” posted the above picture and wrote, “We love hearing about creative promposals, but damaging public lands is not the way to do it.” Apparently, this is the second year in a row that somebody has written “PROM?” on a rock near Sandstone Peak. Are you really gonna ask your crush to prom with a recycled promposal?
Ranger Zach requests that anybody with information about the crime to please call. When planning your promposals, as a rule, try not to land yourselves in legal trouble.
