Obama told the young people to get out and vote. And then when asked if there’s any chance FLOTUS might one day run for president, he once again said no, not ever, implying that Michelle Obama—who likely has a “fuck this shit” countdown set up for their last day—is too good for politics.
“[Michelle] will never run for office,” POTUS told the hosts. “She is as talented and brilliant a person as there is and I could not be prouder of her, but Michelle does not have the patience or the inclination to actually be a candidate herself. That’s one thing y’all can take to the bank. But she’s gonna be, just as I am, we’re going to continue to be very active in terms of issues we care about.”
There you have it, again. This, of course, isn’t the first time the Obamas have had to chill our pipe dreams of a Michelle Obama presidency. Here’s a CNN
timeline of the times FLOTUS or her representatives have confirmed that she’s never running for president, which includes Michelle telling
The View in 2012, “There are so many ways to serve and being president is one of the hardest ways and that’s one of the reasons why I tell Barack, I’m a little smarter than him. I picked the easier job.”
She also said at South by Southwest in March 2016, “I will not run for president. No, nope, not going to do it.”
