The Highly Contentious Disney Mount Rushmore Debate
After Raven-Symoné shared her Disney "Mount Rushmore," which included abuser Shia LaBeouf (the wrong answer), Demi Lovato responded.

While this is not something I’ve personally thought of until today, now that Raven-Symoné gave absolutely the wrong answer, I’m officially determined to uncover the true child stars worthy of a spot on Disney Mount Rushmore so that I can put this hours-long debate to rest and get started on construction.
Symoné recently said on her podcast, The Shade Room, that her Disney Mount Rushmore would include herself (sure), Hilary Duff (great!), and LaBeouf (wrong). Thankfully, Demi Lovato, another Disney great, appeared on the Chicks in the Office podcast on Wednesday to give the only acceptable answer. Which is anyone but LaBeouf. Lovato agreed with Symonés picks of herself and Duff, but when they asked about Shia, she responded, “Um, I’m OK on that one. I’ll pass.” Thank you, Demi, for having the correct response.
If one thing is certain right now, it’s that LaBeouf should definitely not be featured on the Disney Mount Rushmore, even though it is technically a made-up debate that really only exists in my head.
Most recently, LaBeouf, who was made famous on Disney’s Even Stevens, was seen terrorizing Italians in a hotel lobby in his underwear, asking for a light for his cigarette. Before this, in February, he was arrested following a disastrous Mardi Gras brawl and a days-long drunken tirade, which one bartender described as him “terrorizing the city.”
At this point, we all have internet access and know Shia is not someone to immortalize on our metaphorical rock. But who is? When Symone was asked if she would include Miley Cyrus (because duh), she said, “No, not Miley. I love you, Miley, but not Miley. She came after.” Now that’s rude…
I suppose it depends on your generation, as Lovato pointed out. During her Disney tenure, her Mount Rushmore would have been herself, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and the Jonas Brothers. (Maybe the Jonas Brothers get morphed into one face for the sake of the sculpture?) And the generation after hers might include child actors-turned-pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter or Olivia Rodrigo. It begs the question: Does the Disney Mount Rushmore need to include one member from each generation of Disney? As long as it doesn’t include Laboof, I’m good.
I’ll open it up to the floor: What is your Disney Mount Rushmore? Hillary Duff? Zac Efron? Zendaya? And if at least one name doesn’t rhyme with Shmiley Shyrus, I’m gonna be upset.
P.S. If Shia LaBeouf asks you for a cigarette—say no!!!!!
