Shia LaBeouf Got Drunk, Beat Up, Arrested, and Is Reportedly Separated from Mia Goth
After The Hollywood Reporter wrote that he's been "terrorizing" New Orleans for the last week, TMZ reported that he'd been arrested, then Page Six broke the story on him and Goth.

Last we really heard from Shia LaBeouf, he was at Cannes in 2025 promoting the weird documentary that followed his attempt to pretty much create an acting cult in Los Angeles, but ultimately just documents him losing his mind while destroying all these aspiring artists’ lives. As Rolling Stone wrote, the film captured LaBeouf’s “biblical rage spirals, physical assaults, and some truly Grade-A asshole behavior.” Charming stuff.
And he returned to New Orleans this weekend for what feels akin to a repeat performance!
Less than 24 hours after The Hollywood Reporter wrote about LaBeouf’s alleged drunken antics in The Big Easy—including a truly nightmare anecdote in which one bar patron claimed he was yelling out “acting instructions” at a woman—TMZ reported that LaBeouf was arrested early Tuesday morning.
The previously sober actor, who very clearly fell off the wagon, was thrown out of a dive bar by a manager outside the French Quarter on Sunday night, all while trying to reportedly punch a male patron in the face. Labeaouf walked away but then reportedly returned to punch a different man in the nose. He then reportedly got the shit beat out of him until cops arrived, per video published by TMZ.
He was treated for injuries at the hospital and later arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery.
Shortly after TMZ broke the story of his arrest, Page Six reported that LaBeouf and his wife, Mia Goth, actually separated about a year ago and that he moved back to New Orleans to be closer to family. It’s unclear if they’ve filed for divorce. The two met on the set of Nymphomaniac: Vol. II, in 2012, got married in Las Vegas in 2016, split in 2018, were back together in 2020, and welcomed a daughter in 2022.
During all this, LaBeouf was also accused of abusive and controlling behavior by his ex, FKA Twigs, who filed an explosive lawsuit against him in 2020, alleging sexual battery, physical assault, and emotional distress during their brief relationship from 2018 to 2019. In July, months before the case was set to go to trial, lawyers for both said in a joint statement that they’d settled the case out of court.
On Tuesday, THR reported that LaBeouf had been tearing through New Orleans for nearly a full week, with one bartender saying he’s “terrorizing the city.” Before getting thrown out of a different bar Sunday night, the outlet wrote that he showed up to the dive without cash or a shirt, was loud, obnoxious, pulled the “‘Do you know who I am?’ bit,” according to one doorman, and was finally asked to leave after he kept trying to get behind the bar to serve drinks.
