Feast your eyes upon the first trailer for Wild, the upcoming adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s bestselling memoir. It is very strange to see Reese Witherspoon looking anything other than perfectly perky.
For those who haven’t read the book: In the wake of her mother’s death, Strayed’s marriage collapses—and then there’s the heroin. So she decides to hike the whole goddamn West Coast, via the Pacific Crest Trail. (Yup, definitely gonna sob all over myself in the movie theater.) We’ll see whether Witherspoon can pull this off, but I’ll plunk down good money for basically any depiction of a woman traveling by herself.
