Rihanna’s upcoming ANTI tour, originally set to kick off later this month, will be delayed a few weeks, reportedly due to production issues.
The tour, in support of her heavily delayed but pretty great album ANTI, now starts on March 12 in Jacksonville, Florida, with eight dates (Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, etc.) now being rescheduled. Also, some stops in the U.K.
Earlier this week, Rihanna cancelled her scheduled performance at the Grammys, blaming bronchitis, though rumors later cited a “meltdown” as the reason.
Billboard reports:
A source in San Jose tells Billboard that the second show on the tour — set for Feb. 28 at the SAP Center and moved to May 8 — was having production problems and the show wouldn’t be ready in time, which has been known for a couple of weeks. The show was headed for a sellout.
Compared to other tour postponements that can last months, this isn’t too bad of a wait. Plus, Rihanna fans should be used to it (get it?).
