Following a series of tweets calling out an awful experience with an unnamed Hollywood exec, Rose McGowan tweeted an open letter to Hollywood Monday night: “To the women and men in the entertainment industry who know exactly whom and what I am talking about, I say be brave.”
The note, written in the Notes app, natch, appears to address the subject of her tweets over the weekend. Without identifying the person in question, McGowan urges all of Hollywood to stop aiding and abetting people in positions of influence who continue to abuse their power as a result.
“How many more stories to you have to hear before you do the right thing and stop rewarding men that are predators?” she writes, before asking the world at large(?) and the unnamed perpetrator(?) to “be better.”
It’s a strong message, especially in the midst of this terrible month and in the face of the numerous allegations against rancid tub of lard Donald Trump and his conduct with women. Who did this? Who is she talking about? Does it even matter? Regardless of the target and the damage inflicted, McGowan’s message is one of hope. “I know you have it in you to be better,” she writes. “So do it.”
