I am still mourning the loss of Fleabag, (allegedly) gone forever post series 2, but thankfully at least one of my hair idols will time-loop her way back into my life again: Russian Doll has been renewed for a second season.

Co-creator/star Natasha Lyonne made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon at Recode’s Code Conference in Arizona, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Netflix show’s official Twitter account confirmed, and Lyonne super-double-extra-confirmed with a trippy Instagram video backdropped by Harry Nilsson’s now-infamous 1971 track “Gotta Get Up”:

I’m curious to see where Lyonne and fellow creators Amy Poehler and Leslye Headland take Russian Doll in its second round. The first season felt more or less like a completed story, but apparently Lyonne & Co. had initially pitched the show as a three-season series, and it sounds like Lyonne’s got some ideas for this second one.

Per THR (emphasis mine):

The second season renewal was revealed by Lyonne and Netflix vp originals Cindy Holland during their joint appearance Tuesday at Recode’s Code Conference in Arizona. “Same show, just weirder,” said Lyonne. “The character is a coder, so it would be appropriate to have this be the time and place to say, yes. So very much yes, I would love to do [a second season].”

I hope it gets pretty fucking weird! No word on production or release date, but THR says the second season, like the first, will consist of eight episodes, giving me about four hours to cut and then instantly regret curly-hair bangs.
