Oklahoma’s beacon of tolerance, State Rep. Sally Kern filed three separate ridiculously hateful measures targeting the LGBT community on Friday.

House Bill 1599 is dubbed the “Preservation and Sovereignty of Marriage Act.” House Bill 1598 is called the “Freedom to Obtain Conversion Therapy Act.” A third measure would allow businesses to refuse to provide services to the gay community, among others
The “Preservation and Sovereignty of Marriage Act” says that taxpayer funds and governmental salaries cannot be used to license or support same-sex marriage. Oof, ok lady. And the “Freedom to Obtain Conversion Therapy Act” would allow parents of gay kids to pay actual human money to trash counselors and therapists to try and unsuccessfully make them straight. If passed, Oklahoma parents will be able to do this without the state government interfering.
You may remember Kern from 2008, when she said that “the homosexual agenda” was destroying America. “I honestly think it’s the biggest threat that our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam, which I think is a big threat,” she said.
