A new study from an English vitamin company has found that the average woman spends approximately 10 days a year in a “grumpy” mood. Well, either the ladies of the UK are the cheeriest bunch of broads you’ll ever meet or this study is totally wack because most of the women I know are pissed-off for about 10 hours a day.
According to Healthspan, women’s leading grumpy “triggers” are worrying about weight, money, weather and attention from their partners.
“The study found in a typical week, the average female believes they spend nearly five hours ‘in a strop,'” reports The Telegraph. “But the men surveyed contradicted that evidence, to claim the women in their lives in fact appeared to feel grumpy ‘closer to eight hours a week.'”
Ooh, discord! The Healthspan study, which surveyed 1,000 women and 1,000 men, also found that, when upset, men craved more support from their partners and women just wanted “me time.” So maybe those extra 3 hours of grumpiness that men perceived in women each week were derived from their girlfriends wish to simply be left the fuck alone.
Or — more likely — the survey is nonsense! I’m grumpy basically all the time and a quick survey of friends found that they, too, are — more often than not — annoyed about something. That’s not to say that we’re all unhappy — just that we’re capable of juggling more than one emotion at once. And that our dominant emotion ALWAYS happens to be anger. Don’t like it? TOO BAD.
(Sorry, I’m in a bad mood today.)
