The 2022 Brit Awards Red Carpet: Sequins, A Whole Lot of Black, and Adele

All the way across the pond, the 2022 Brit Awards were broadcast streamed on YouTube on Tuesday night with looks that proved awards season is back in full swing.

Presented at the O2 Arena in London, the show had a plethora of performers including Adele, Dave, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz and Sam Fender. Notably, Adele had plenty to be pleased about as she not only performed, but collected three awards and stirred up a whole lot of rumors about whether or not she’s engaged (???).

If you’re like us and really just care about what people wore more than what they won, let’s just skip the chatter and take a look at the looks.

She is beauty, she is grace. From the neckline to the subtle sparkle to the sophisticated hair and makeup, Adele knew exactly what to do and did the damn thing.

An electric blue velvet suit was a CHOICE. I can’t tell if I absolutely hate it or kind of love it???? But also, what is this stance? Okay, fine, upon further reflection, this whole thing is inducing shivers, but not in the way Eddie likely wanted it.

There’s something very art student-esque about this. It’s giving torn-apart disco ball.

Unclear why this Ted Lasso woman was there, but she absolutely killed it. The bustier detailing should’ve won its own Brit Award!!!

Men can really show up doing the least and still look decent. Ugh.

The red splatters on the top have me waiting for her to tell me, “It’s just a minor flesh wound, darling.” And is the material here... neoprene? You’re on the red carpet, babes! Leave the scuba material to the sea where it belongs.

Jessica knew what she was doing and went the classic sophisticated route, while David looks about as interesting as a glue stick. Relatedly, it will never not be fascinating to me how multi-millionaire DJs such as Guetta can look so deeply average and unknowable when they’re not behind their booths.

It’s giving Matrix meets Shein haul. I have no choice but to support.

This singer was born in 2001 so I have no clue who they are, but this linoleum looking black-and-white number is definitely making a statement.
