The Details of Kash Patel’s Alleged Drinking Problem Just Keep Spilling Out

It’s been peak embarrassment season for FBI Director Kash Patel, who’s spent the last month fighting tooth and nail to prove how stable and totally-not-drunk-on-the-job he is… by suing and siccing his agents on an Atlantic reporter who dared say otherwise. But would you look at that? Despite his best efforts to unravel a story corroborated by the testimonies of over two dozen FBI staff members—the details of his incompetence just can’t stop gushing out.

On Thursday, Sarah Fitzpatrick—the same journalist who conducted the bombshell investigation that Patel is allegedly too often drunk to do his job—published a sequel, if you will, to accounts of the FBI director’s alleged dipsomania. (It must be said that Patel has vehemently denied all allegations of alcoholic misconduct.)

“After my story appeared,” Fitzpatrick writes, “I heard from people in Patel’s orbit and people he has met at public functions, who told me that it is not unusual for him to travel with a supply of personalized branded bourbon.” What. Fitzpatrick continues to say at least eight people—including current and former employees at the FBI and Justice Department—say Patel has given these bottles out to anyone and everyone from civilians, staff… and, yes, the Men’s U.S. Olympic Hockey Team

It gets worse. The bottles appear to be from Woodford Reserve, but replacing the bourbon’s typical label is a riff on the FBI badge that features the trademark eagle holding a shield in its talons, and below that is a cringe-inducing “KA$H PATEL” label. According to a spokesperson for Woodford Reserve, all engravings for the company’s bottles occur after purchasing. So, well, do with that information what you will.

hahaha holy shit!

The same day it’s reported that Kash Patel sicced the FBI on the Atlantic reporter behind the story about him being drunk on the job, she drops another banger about him handing out personalized FBI-branded bourbon bottles to staff and friends.

Patel apparently brought an entire case of these bottles with him to his FBI-UFC training nightmare collaboration in March, during which he also misplaced one of them and proceeded to “lose his mind.” According to one retired FBI agent that helps other agents with legal matters, multiple agents sought his help during this episode, as Patel was threatening to put them on a polygraph test and prosecute them for the missing alcohol. “It turned into a shitshow,” he said. I’ll say.

The article comes less than a month after Fitzpatrick published her first article detailing accounts of Patel’s alcoholic misconduct, which he responded to almost immediately by launching a $250 million defamation lawsuit against the outlet. (The Atlantic has maintained it stands by its reporting.) And on Thursday, the same day Fitzpatrick wrote her latest article, at least two sources told MS Now that Patel’s been using FBI resources to probe Fitzpatrick—in what’s been called a criminal leak investigation.

Patel has yet to reply to the latest Atlantic article. But if recent history’s any indication… I’m sure we can expect the crash-out—or, ahem, KA$H-out—any day now.
