If you prefer your Selena to be more of the “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” variety rather than Biebz-related, you may be thrilled to hear that a Selena Quintanilla X MAC Cosmetics collection could be in the works. The news comes just in time to celebrate what would have been the O.G. Selena’s 44th birthday tomorrow and just after the 20th anniversary of her death on March 31st.
According to The Flama, MAC reached out to Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla about a potential collaboration. A petition for this dream line was created by a fan back in February, which resulted in 30,000 signatures and a successful social media campaign using the hashtag #SelenaQuintanillaForMAC. After the recent announcement of a Selena hologram and a 2-day festival in her hometown of Corpus Christi happening this weekend, it’s clear that Selena’s devoted fan base wants their Tejano princess celebrated as much as possible. MAC would be smart to add a Selena collection to their roster. While the hologram is still kinda creepy, a red lipstick named “Amor Prohibido” could be pretty cool.
