The Real Star of The Meddler Is Beyoncé's 'I Was Here'

Latest

Lorene Scafaria’s mother-daughter dramedy The Meddler is probably the warmest, most satisfying movie I’ve had the pleasure of watching (twice) all year. It stars Susan Sarandon as a lonely widow who moves to Los Angeles from New Jersey to be closer to her recently dumped daughter (Rose Byrne), and features an extended cameo of sorts by Beyoncé Knowles.

Though she never appears on camera, Knowles can be heard singing the Diane Warren-penned ballad “I Was Here” (newly discovered and beloved by Sarandon’s character) in several scenes throughout the film. You can watch them all above. Then you can watch the full movie here.
