The Wildest Fashion Moments from the Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet

From Megan Fox to Megan Thee Stallion, here were some of the hits and misses of the night.

Host Sean “Diddy” Combs made the dubious promise that Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards would find him “uncancelling the cancelled,” as it featured Travis Scott’s first televised performance since the Astroworld tragedy as well as a performance by N-word dropper Morgan Wallen. If you’re singing live on NBC within months of being at the center of a major controversy, were you ever really canceled in the first place? Probably not, Diddy!

Controversial performers aside, the Billboard awards also gave out a bunch of trophies to artists like Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, and BTS, who weren’t even at the event to claim them. With so many no-shows, some of the most notable moments of the night played out on the red carpet. Let’s take a look.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly

I’m seeing Monica Bellucci and a chihuahua in a hawk vest. Also, his nails cost $30k.

Doja Cat

Doja looked perfectly glam in Schiaparelli, a bit like a high-fashion Wi-Fi router. I really enjoyed the golden details, from the planetary purse to the gold (spray-painted????) toes to the tinsel titty toppers.

Chloe Bailey

Chloe showed out in another glorious black-and-gold ensemble. She looked fantastic, but those toenails should have been gold as well. Commit to the theme!

The whole band’s rocking purses, Red Suit Guy. Where’s your purse?

Heidi Klum

In my head, I can absolutely hear Heidi saying something uncharitable about that dress if someone made it on Project Runway. The outfit is giving bumblebee.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

The gorgeous chunky bracelets (more gold moments!) aren’t enough to save this very boring dress. Travis’s suit, on the other hand—lots of nice wooly texture, lots of pockets, just dressy enough for an awards show, and suitably casual for this particular awards show. Kylie, take notes.

Burna Boy

From the boots to the fangs, this was a fun look. He also looked great later on, when he took the stage in a flayed short suit. His wasn’t the night’s only costume change, but Burna Boy definitely brought one of the strongest combos.

If Ms. Frizzle taught Montessori.

These dresses are going for ballroom dance, but I’m mostly getting flag team, I’m sorry.

Megan Thee Stallion

Megan wore two Mugler looks at the awards, and while the outfit she sported onstage was perfection, this one feels like a miss. It’s like she dove headfirst into a pile of pantyhose and came up with a random shoehorn attached to her shoulder.

Dove Cameron

Gorgeous, like a very beautiful lobster. I wish the piping didn’t kill the nude illusion.

Teyana Taylor

Teyana is definitely not sticking to the rivers and lakes that she’s used to. Chains are a red carpet staple, but I appreciate that she went that extra mile and added locks.
