Thigh Slits, Satin, Lots of Volume and No Rihanna Album at the Diamond Ball Gala

BeautyStyle

On Thursday night, Rihanna threw her 2nd Annual Diamond Ball gala at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California, to support her Clara Lionel Foundation. From Zendaya to Kylie Jenner—and even Tyga—nearly everyone cleaned up nicely for the queen. Still, no ANTI album anywhere in sight.

Rihanna’s Grecian Dior gown def seems like it was more glamorous up close. This is a fabric that’s difficult to photograph without looking bunched and wrinkly, but even with all that Rihanna makes it gorgeous in total.

The billowy, seductive off-shoulder back is my fav part.

Zendaya typically kills in voluminous looks that I could never get away with due to lack of height. In love with these lamp shade pant legs.

Kylie Jenner chose a mermaid gown by August Getty Atelier with a super dramatic train. The nude totally works for her, though the straps look like she’s ready to skydive out of a plane while Tyga proposes.

Holly Robinson Peete’s pageant gown makes me think of a game show model. Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish look incredibly classy, especially her in elegant black nightgown-esque satin. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, as usual, appear as if they were born to be coordinated.

Ok, not sure about the zipper.

EJ Johnson wore a sheer shirt under a blazer and he’s confident about it so you should be too. Tyga turned into a grown man for the night, and I hate to say it but Mehcad Brooks could’ve taken some cues from him and gone slightly skinner, more tailored, with his suit.

Basketball Wives’ Draya Michele and her gothic ballerina ensemble is cute yet too long from this angle. Emily Ratajkowski and Isabella Lindblom dared to be similar in basic black slit dresses. Morgan Stewart is kinda just here?

Rihanna’s personal trainer Jamie Granger went for menswear and I’m not feeling the wide-leg pants. Pro-golfer Lexi Thompson is a tad too sucked in and mermaid-like, only missing gills. Stephanie Bauer has the right idea with this visually popping jumpsuit, but the fit is not the most appealing.

I like that Asafa Powell (a Jamaican sprinter) went outside the box in a horizontal striped blazer and pulled it off. I’d very much wear Brian Lichtenberg’s outfit to work. And Miguel Cotto is smooth in a bowtie.

Friends, how many of us have them?
