And so it has been declared (read this in an English or Southern accent): The 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on this night, the 17th of September, in the year Two Thousand and Eighteen. All of the best and overrated actors in Hollywood are currently together in one spot, and many of them are nominated for an Emmy. Issa Rae and Tracee Ellis Ross are both up for best lead actress in a comedy series, alongside Pamela Adlon, etc. And for best lead actress in a drama series, it’s an all-out war between Claire Foy, Elisabeth Moss, Sandra Oh, Keri Russell, Evan Rachel Wood, and Tatiana Maslany—all great actors.

Atlanta is nominated with Glow and Silicon Valley for best comedy series. Stranger Things will battle This Is Us in the drama category. Anything could happen. Jessica Biel, anyone? Baskets, anyone? Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, anyone? Let’s see which of the too-many TV shows and which of these talented people will be rewarded with trophies that validate them as the best.
