Thom Browne Goes Beyond the Valley of the Dolls

Browne told Vogue España that the “concept was really taking tailored clothing and trompe l’oeiling it into basically a one-piece that zipped down the back, almost referencing a wetsuit.” The setting was a public pool, the music was muzak, that overcoats were puffy and day-glo, with mismatched shoes and mirrored sunnies in the shape of fishes and lifesavers. Also, the models were assisted by dudes in animal costumes, no big deal! They’re leftovers from his Spring 2017 menswear show held in Paris in June. I love every bit of this show.
