Latest

This weekend, over 2,500 people peacefully assembled and demonstrated in protest of the death of Eric Garner, an unarmed black man who was killed when a white New York City police officer used an illegal chokehold on him. The officer stopped Garner, the 43-year-old father of six, for selling loose cigarettes.

Former New York Gov. David Paterson and Congressman Hakeem Jeffries joined Rev. Al Sharpton and Garner’s family in the march to the rally. Via New York Times:

No arrests have been made.
