Being “Pro-Transgender” Now Makes You a Terrorist, According to Trump Administration
The admin's plan says it will "neutralize" and "cripple" what it calls "radically pro-transgender" groups. Congrats, you're a terrorist.

I wouldn’t exactly blame someone for taking no notice of the White House’s daily missives, given that most of the national attention remains fixed on surging gas prices and a war in Iran that is both “over” and escalating simultaneously, the President is being forced to deny he’s a pedophile on national television, and the Secretary of State is giving quotes like “we’re not a stupid country.” There’s too much dumb and demoralizing news out there to even get to all of it on a daily basis, but in not being able to keep up with what the White House is sending out into the ether on a daily basis, we also risk missing some of the most genuinely chilling material. Like, oh I don’t know, a new 2026 counterterrorism strategy released this week that explicitly identifies “pro-transgender” groups right alongside “cartels and Islamic terror groups” as the three main types of terrorist cells it is intent on crushing. Seems concerning?
Citing the assassination of conservative influencer and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who the government asserts was killed by “a radical who espoused extreme transgender ideologies,” the White House’s counterterrorism strategy devotes all of a single paragraph amid what is otherwise a 16-page document to casually mentioning it will be going after any left-wing group it deems dangerous. Or in other words, any left-wing group it wants to oppress via government authority, for any reason. These groups, it says, will be subject to “neutralization,” with the government using terms like “crush” and “cripple” to really drive the aura of violence home. The relevant paragraph, in full:
In addition to cartels and Islamist terror groups, our national counterterrorism activities will also prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist. We will use all the tools constitutionally available to us to map them at home, identify their membership, map their ties to international organizations like Antifa, and use law enforcement tools to cripple them operationally before they can maim or kill the innocent. We will do the same with the state sponsors of such groups and those governments undertaking lethal plots on U.S. soil or against Americans anywhere.
Which is to say, the government is saying that not only is it illegal to be part of a group with an ideology it deems–in its own opinion–to be “anti-American,” but that also makes you subject to anti-terrorism actions from the U.S. government. You know what the U.S. government is allowed to do to those it proclaims to be “terrorists”? Well, it’s pretty much anything. It shot two of those people dead on the streets of Minnesota, only calling them terrorists posthumously, and the agencies involved refused to correct the record afterward because in the Trump administration you’re never allowed to admit fault. The state, meanwhile, hasn’t even been able to access crime-scene evidence, much less level charges against the federal agents who did the killing.
WTF does “radically pro-transgender” mean?

Note also the use of the word “radically” in front of “pro-transgender,” which is intended to do all the heavy lifting here: The Trump administration is anticipating criticism, and preemptively lining up their excuse to say that this plan clearly only speaks of those in America who are engaged in “radically pro-transgender” activities, rather than merely pro-transgender activities. The problem, of course, is that it is the government who will be defining what is “radical” and what is not. And given that more than 50% of polled Republicans claim that activities like “celebrating the death of a public figure” or “occupying a public place” qualify as “political violence,” you can expect the government backed by those Republicans to define any behavior it wishes to define as “radical” or “violent,” and respond in kind. There is no level of involvement in a “pro-transgender” organization that the federal government couldn’t eventually choose to use against you under this strategy.
Note also the inevitable invoking of “Antifa,” referred to by the government as an “international organization,” despite the fact that there is not and has never been any kind of centralized “Antifa” or anti-fascist organization in our country. There is no President of Antifa, no headquarters or membership. Federal authorities are fully aware of this, of course: During a congressional hearing last year, when Michael Glasheen, operations director of the FBI’s National Security Branch, was asked to give information on Antifa’s size, organization or activities, he was completely unable to do so. Despite that, he said Antifa was the “primary concern” of the FBI, and that “investigations are active,” into an organization that does not functionally exist.
GLASHEEN: Antifa is our primary concern right now. That’s the most immediate violent threat we’re facing
BENNIE THOMPSON: Where is antifa headquartered?
GLASHEEN: … … … we are building out the infrastructure right now
THOMPSON: What does that mean?

It is certainly accurate that there have been several violent attacks, genuine instances of the “political violence” that the right can’t seem to understand or define, in the last few years that were perpetrated by left-wing actors. Charlie Kirk was assassinated; immigration facilities have been attacked, most notably in July of 2025 when a group of assailants set off fireworks and opened fire on law enforcement outside a Texas ICE facility. But actual, organized political violence or terrorism from left-wing groups has been functionally nonexistent, despite the kind of rhetoric one tends to see flying around Bluesky on a daily basis.
The Trump administration, however, won’t let a lack of organized left-wing terrorism stop them from inventing some, or tweaking the sliders to just start defining everything as “terrorism indicators.” Back in September, a story that sadly flew under the radar was Donald Trump’s signing of NSPM-7, a National Security Directive (like a more secret executive order) that instructed the intelligence and federal law enforcement departments to “disrupt networks, entities, and organizations that foment political violence so that law enforcement can intervene in criminal conspiracies before they result in violent political acts.” Note that they said before they result in violent political acts: In doing so, Trump instructed his administration to ferret out enemies in advance, pre-crime style. As Stephen Miller bragged at the time, perched, I can only assume, atop a throne made of human skulls: “This is the first time in American history that there is an all-of-government effort to dismantle left wing terrorism.”
What kind of terrorism did that National Security Directive say the government should be rooting out, or how should they be identifying and locating those terrorists? Well, the document handily includes a list of traits that it dubs “indicia” or “indicators” of violent behavior, including such pearls as “anti-Americanism,” “anti-capitalism,” “anti-Christianity,” “extremism on gender,” and the supremely vague “hostility toward those who hold traditional American views on family and morality.”
So yeah: In the eyes of the Trump administration, if you display “anti-American” or “anti-capitalist” sentiment, you are displaying terrorism indicators, and are subject to whatever the government deems appropriate to befall a terrorist. And heaven help you if you support a “pro-transgender” (and therefore “extreme”) organization, as this will display that you have “hostility toward those who hold traditional American views on family and morality” in your heart! Which is, didn’t you know, another “indicator” of terroristic violence … the kind that must be dealt with preemptively, “before they result in violent political acts.”
The Trump administration, in other words, has laid all the track and foundations it needs in order to justify whatever it intends to do to any of us who naysay the rise of our fascist, authoritarian state. I guess we’ll all find out together what the punishment for being “radically pro-transgender” really is, in the near future.
