Trump Got a Hell of a Greeting in the U.K.

“Forgive the cliche, but it is rather Orwellian for a piece of journalism, which raises questions about our guest’s relationship with America’s most notorious child sex trafficker to lead to arrests," a spokesperson for the group behind the protest said.

Trump Got a Hell of a Greeting in the U.K.

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump got one hell of a greeting when he touched down in the U.K. for a state visit…

Under the cover of night, a series of images featuring Trump and deceased pedophile financier, Jeffrey Epstein, were projected onto the stone walls of Windsor Castle. Included in the slideshow from hell were several photos of Trump and Epstein looking chummy, the infamous photo with first lady Melania Trump and Epstein’s co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as that disturbing birthday message, which Trump allegedly wrote to Epstein in 2003.

Unfortunately, the four individuals responsible for the act of protest—a group called “Led By Donkeys,” as confirmed by the Guardian—are now in police custody. In a statement, the Thames Valley Police said that they arrested four adults “on suspicion of malicious communications following a public stunt in Windsor.” An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

“Our officers responded swiftly to stop the projection and four people have been arrested,” the statement read.

While a spokesperson for Led By Donkeys didn’t respond to Jezebel’s request for comment at the time this story was published, they told the Guardian that it was the first time members of their group had ever been arrested for a projection.

“We’ve done, I reckon, 25 or 30 projections since we’ve been going. Often the police come along and we have a chat to them, and they even have a laugh with us and occasionally tell us to not do it,” they told the publication. “But no one’s ever been arrested before, so it is ridiculous that four of our guys have been arrested for malicious communications.”

They added: “Forgive the cliche, but it is rather Orwellian for a piece of journalism, which raises questions about our guest’s relationship with America’s most notorious child sex trafficker to lead to arrests. We’re constantly told, you know, we need to see peaceful protests. Well, here’s a peaceful protest…we projected a piece of journalism on to a wall and now people have been arrested for malicious communications. I think that, frankly, says a lot more about the policing of Trump’s visit than it does about what we did.”

Meanwhile, Trump is expected to spend all of Wednesday at the castle with King Charles III and Queen Camilla, and other members of the royal family like Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton. The royal family having tea with an alleged sexual predator? How novel.

The “public stunt” comes just one week after the House Oversight Committee made more of the Epstein files public. The latest round came from a leather-bound book compiled by Maxwell for Epstein’s 50th birthday. Among the most damning details was the apparent confirmation of a note Trump allegedly wrote to Epstein, which was first reported by the Wall Street Journal in July. The letter includes a sketch of a nude woman’s torso, a cryptic birthday message, and was signed by Trump. When it was first published, much of the GOP lost their minds, and Trump himself threatened to sue Rupert Murdoch, the current owner of the publication’s parent company, News Corp, for defamation. He’s continued to deny culpability, frequently calling the Epstein investigation “a hoax.”

It goes without saying that arresting people for peaceful protest is wrong. But no one should be surprised. After all, the royal family has at least one former Epstein friend among their ranks…
