TV One could be temporarily blocked from airing its Bobbi Kristina Brown biopic in October as scheduled, following a lawsuit from her estate and her father Bobby Brown.
Page Six reports that a judge in New York “ordered the parties to appear in court to further discuss the matter.” That court date is scheduled for September 29, a week before the movie’s intended October 8 airdate. The judge will then determine if the biopic should be temporarily shelved, though Bobby Brown is seeking a permanent block.
In a lawsuit filed earlier this month, Brown described the depiction of him as a bad father in the film as defamatory. Bobbi Kristina’s estate later joined the suit, which rose from $1 million to $2 million.
