Please take a moment and watch this video of Newt Gingrich losing his mind when Megyn Kelly deigns to call out the sexual assault allegations against Donald Trump, I promise you, it is worth your time.
The two pals start out nice and easy, talking about Trump’s garbage poll numbers, but the whole things takes a hard left when Kelly brings up the allegations against Trump. Gingrich goes from zero to 100, pointing a finger at the camera and flapping his jowls, saying, “I’m sick and tired of people like you using language that’s inflammatory and not true.”
“Excuse me, Mr. Speaker,” counters Kelly, cool as a cucumber, “you have no idea whether it’s true or not.” Dang. Gingrich goes on to yell some more about how Kelly even bringing up the allegations is “taking a position,” to which she responds, “I think your defensiveness on this may speak volumes, sir.”
What follows is what you’d expect: Gingrich brings up both Hillary Clinton’s emails and Bill Clinton’s past in an attempt to divert attention away from the matter at hand. Oh, and he also accuses her of being “fascinated by sex” because she’s simply asking a question about alleged information that is at this point common knowledge and exceedingly relevant to current events. She’s doing her job.
“You know what Mr. Speaker, I’m not fascinated by sex. But I am fascinated by the protection of women, and understanding what we’re getting in the Oval Office,” she says.
Then Gingrich tries to get her to say “Bill Clinton, sexual predator” on live television for reasons that make sense only to him. ““You can take your anger issues and spend some time working on them, Mr. Speaker,” she says in conclusion, as Newt disappears into the abyss.
